Rispoli was out photographing high heels “six and half nights a week.” “Up All Night” distills a personal look at clubgoers over many nights in New York City’s downtown club scene. From dance floors to gritty club bathrooms, and onto the streets, these images reflect the chaotic beauty of the era. Beyond the fetish of the shoe, here we are brought face to face with the personalities that frequented the night life. Most images were captured in and out of the popular clubs such as Danceteria, CBGB, TR3 Club, Max’s Kansas City, Club 57, and The Mudd Club. In an exciting time for music and visually exotic era, each of these fellow clubgoers showed an individualized style and fashion sense.
