Rispoli, as an environmental designer, uses his creative eye and designer’s sensibility to chronicle the details of New York City’s continuously evolving architecture, culture, fashion, and environment. He uses his life experiences as a lens through which to view the rich urban geography and fascinating array of subject matter. Here, objects tell a personal story.

He’s a modernist and advocate of the design principle “less is more,” and believes that “god is in the details.” Using those principles his camera absorbs bright colors or stark monochromatic compositions where atypical details composed of materials, shapes and patterns merge with the man-made and the organic. All contribute to his personal essay. Rispoli is a design professional, artist and educator who has lived in New York City his entire life and finds inspiration on a daily basis from details in the city’s landscape. He can be found on the street, in a club or on a rooftop be it day or night, using sunlight, street lamp lighting, or on-camera flash to document what his mind sees.
